Eve and I run the San Francisco Breakfast Club chapter and let me tell you what a joy it is. There are three rules:
- Everyone's welcome, especially you
- No pitching
- Pay your own way
Otherwise there's no structure and that's the charm. Ben started this most unfussy of gatherings at the Whythe Hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, by texting friends, "I'll be here, join if you want." It grew slowly, then suddenly. Something about both the structure (no pitching) and unstructure (the conversation careens in any which direction) caused it to balloon into five New York chapters, and now 40+ around the world.
There's no RSVP. Just know and show up. This wigs some people out. They text us, "Is it happening?" And the answer is yes. Always yes. All weather. Eve, Mag, and I will be there whether anyone shows up or not. Find one in your city, or start one in your city.
If you're ever in town, stop by.
